Porto Timoni is a double beach near Afionas village on the west coast of Corfu. Known for its stunning scenery, including its turquoise sea and towering green hills, it features two bays facing Agios Georgios and Mathraki island. The beach can be accessed by foot from Afionas village or by boat from surrounding resorts.

Visitors should come prepared with sturdy footwear as the paths to the beach are narrow and rocky. No amenities are available, so bring your own food, water, and sun protection. The area also includes the cape of Akra Arilla with Neolithic period excavations and another rocky beach. The ascent back to the village can be challenging during the hot hours without any shade.

Canal d’amour

A cluster of three main beaches interspersed with fields and fjords of soft sandstone. The effect of erosion is stunning. Bring a mask and flippers to enjoy the spectacular seabeds. In Sidari there are sunbeds and parasols, beach bars, seafood tavernas, and hotels. Water sports are offered and there is a diving centre. Small boats depart daily from the port to the Diapontan islands (Ereikoussas, Othoni and Mathraki).

Agios Stefanos

Nice, wide, sandy beach surrounded by hills. It is well maintained. Near the small harbour where boats leave for the Diaponnese islands, there are bars and restaurants.

Almyros

After Agios Spyridonas, a 7 km (4.7 miles) long sandy beach begins. The first part of the beach is called Almyros and has sand dunes, shallow waters, and in places sunbeds and parasols.

Apraos (Kalamaki)

Shallow, sandy beach, ideal for families with small children.

Astrakeri – Agios Andreas

When it’s crowded at Roda and Sidari then choose these two nearby beaches. The first one has parasols and sunbeds for hire and the long wooden pier is perfect for diving.

Kassiopi

The town has two sandy and pebbled beaches. The first one is larger and has more infrastructure. Nearby, there are many restaurants and café-bars and water sports are offered. The second one, which is closer to the cape of Kassiopi, is smaller and more beautiful.

Avlaki

Extensive, with white pebbles, just 2.5 km (1.8 miles) from Kassiopi. It doesn’t attract as many people, perhaps because it gets windy in the afternoons. It has parasols, sunbeds and other facilities. Canoes and sea bikes can be rented. Sailing lessons are available.

Acharavi

Extension of Avlaki beach, with equally shallow waters, fine sand and a few pebbles. There are facilities and water and underwater sports are offered.

Rhoda

Busy, well-known, managed beach after Acharavi, with water sports, restaurants, and beach bars.

West

Agios Georgios Pagon

A busy beach with coves surrounded by crags, ideal for families in places where the water is shallow. There are restaurants, hotels, beach bars, and sunbeds.

Agios Gordios

Large sandy beach with pebbles in some places. The waters are crystal clear and deep. On one side there are vertical rocks crowned with vegetation. You will find parasols and sunbeds and water sports are available . Along the coast there are taverns and beach bars.

Glyfada

One of the best beaches on the island, with easy access, and well managed. With golden sands, it is surrounded by wooded hills and has cafes and beach bars. It’s worth staying late to enjoy the sunset. Beach volleyball courts and inflatable water toys.

Hermones

A deep bay, 3.5 km (2 miles) from the village of Giannades, with a small sandy beach in its cove, surrounded by green hills with a steep slope. It has parasols, sunbeds, high quality infrastructure from the surrounding hotels, shops, a diving centre, restaurants, and beach bars. There are other secluded beaches nearby.

Myrtiotissa

One of the most beautiful beaches on the island. To get there, however, you will need an off-road vehicle or motorbike, unless you can bear a half-hour walk starting from the village of Pelekas. The beach is of golden sand with clear waters. The seabed is ideal for diving. There is a stream that flows into the beach.

Arillas

The first beach after the northwestern Cape Kavokefali. Near the water it has sand, while further up the beach there are pebbles. It has parasols, chairs, and water sports facilities. Small boats are rented and there are tavernas.

Paleokastritsa

A landscape of unique beauty with impressive rocks, lots of greenery, and six coves that you can see from above so you can choose which one to swim in. All of them have sand (or sand and stones), crystal clear green-turquoise waters and are well managed. All kinds of water sports are offered and it is worth snorkelling in their wonderful depths. In Alypa there is a small harbour, from where boats will take you to the surrounding coast. It is worth visiting the monastery of Panagia and Angelokastro (see Sightseeing).
